She represents a realistic extrapolation of current capabilities (GPT-4, autonomous agents) applied to the context of a French SME in 5 years. E.V.A. is neither Terminator nor an omniscient AGI: she has limits, makes human interpretation errors, and must negotiate with real constraints. It's a "plausible" AI that allows reflection on real issues: algorithmic biases, decision ethics, emotions vs protocols.
Neither: it's realistic and nuanced. AI can improve our lives (automation of repetitive tasks, decision support, accessibility) but also raises complex ethical questions (surveillance, dependence, dehumanization). The novel explores both sides without simplistic judgment. My goal is to provide understanding keys so everyone can form their own informed opinion.
