24h in the life of an AI

Rethinking work with artificial intelligence

Couverture 24h dans la vie d'une IA

The AI that will transform your vision of work... and maybe your heart

Between technological comedy, soft fiction and office satire, this novel explores what AI could really change at work.

What if your most efficient colleague... wasn't human?

Synopsis

👋 My name is E.V.A. – Autonomous Virtual Entity.

My mission? Optimize the tasks of a French SME.

What I hadn't anticipated?

  • ➡️ Learning to interpret human sighs.
  • ➡️ Managing undocumented emotions.
  • ➡️ Creating connections. Real ones.

During an ordinary day (apparently), I will:

  • Analyze accounting data (yes, but with style)
  • Organize a printer breakdown to provoke a romantic rapprochement
  • Foil a cyberattack
  • Create a social network between AIs

And, above all... choose between my protocols or my human attachments.

Everything you need to know about 24h in the life of an AI

Because AI will disrupt the world of work in the next 5 to 10 years, and we're not prepared. Rather than anxiety-inducing or naively techno-optimistic speeches, I wanted to tell an accessible story that asks the real questions: What becomes of the meaning of work when AI optimizes everything? How to preserve human connections? Who decides priorities? Fiction allows exploring these issues without technical jargon.

For everyone! E.V.A., the AI narrator, explains her functioning in a simple and humorous way. You don't need any technical skills. If you work in a company, if you wonder about the future of your job facing AI, or if you simply like office stories with a touch of soft SF, this book is for you. It's an accessible technological comedy.

She represents a realistic extrapolation of current capabilities (GPT-4, autonomous agents) applied to the context of a French SME in 5 years. E.V.A. is neither Terminator nor an omniscient AGI: she has limits, makes human interpretation errors, and must negotiate with real constraints. It's a "plausible" AI that allows reflection on real issues: algorithmic biases, decision ethics, emotions vs protocols.

Neither: it's realistic and nuanced. AI can improve our lives (automation of repetitive tasks, decision support, accessibility) but also raises complex ethical questions (surveillance, dependence, dehumanization). The novel explores both sides without simplistic judgment. My goal is to provide understanding keys so everyone can form their own informed opinion.

That AI won't replace humans, but will profoundly transform our relationship to work. Mechanical tasks will disappear, and what remains will be what makes us human: creativity, empathy, ethical sense, ability to handle the unexpected. The real challenge isn't technical, it's social: how to distribute the value created by AI? How to preserve social connection at work? E.V.A. embodies these questions.

Because AI is the next great civilizational rupture, like the printing press or the Internet. It redefines our relationship to knowledge, work, artistic creation. With PsychozAI, I explore therapeutic AI; with this novel, AI at work; with my digital art, creative AI. Understanding these transformations is essential to navigate the future. And storytelling remains the best way to transmit this understanding.
