What's the price of freedom?
A collection of contemporary art photographs on the cycle of consumption
Foreword
It is expressed as a right.
A right exists if the individual can enjoy it.
Thus we speak of freedom to choose.
What can be said, when the choice is influenced by an orchestrated context, can we speak of freedom?
What can be said, of the freedom to do, to produce and to consume when it is through these prisms that we exist; That we consume ourselves.
As a species, civilization and individual.
Where is freedom when from our choices, some pay the consequences.
Who manufactures our choices?
Who pays for our freedom?
What will become of this freedom?
Humankind does not care about these questions, reason is not the norm.
It is therefore necessary to build a cycle taking into account the unreason of humankind while leaving it free to be and to embody what it is.
To this destructive consumerist impulse I oppose creation, to reinsert oneself within a cycle in which nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.
The Consumption Cycle
In this series of photographs we explore the different phases of unreasonable consumption inserted in a cycle:
Demo
From creation, the object is presented.
Appearance
Recognized for what it is, the product is presented for what it appears to be.
Illusion
Once acquired, the fantasy of the image fades, only the object remains.
Abandon
The fantasized object is then abandoned, forgotten.
Discover
It is then re-discovered, taken into account, it regains an existence.
Manage
Thus it is re-integrated, re-employed, because humans leave nothing to chance.
Process
Once determined it is manipulated, oriented to meet a need.
Hope
Then comes the hope of an improvement in its use.

Conclusion
This collection of contemporary art photographs invites us to reflect on the cycle of consumption and its implications for our freedom.
From the initial demonstration to the final hope, this visual journey illustrates how we move from illusion to abandonment, then to rediscovery and reuse.
An invitation to rethink our relationship with objects and the freedom they provide or take away from us.
